Thanksgiving Eve

Thanksgiving is my wife’s favorite holiday because it brings our whole family together and kicks off the holiday season. This year we’ll host a dozen for turkey day, but I’m more excited about Thanksgiving Eve.

Our daughters brought home their report cards, and Catherine, our fourth grader, received perfect marks. The reward in our house for a job done so well is some one-on-one bonding time, their choice of spending a whole day with Mommy or Daddy.

Catherine chose me (such a smart girl), and we made plans to go camping on Wednesday night at Myakka State Park. We’re looking forward to roasting marshmallows, riding bikes, and spending the night in our new tent.
