Down for the Count
I’m sorry for missing last week’s update. I was down for the count with pneumonia, and let me tell you, it was not fun. For those of you who have not had the experience, please take my advice. Do whatever you can to avoid getting pneumonia. There’s a reason why young children and old people die when they get it. For a while there, I though I was going to die too.
Tee Time for Tots
A few weeks ago I mentioned an event the Early Learning Coalition of Sarasota County is organizing to raise money that will support early literacy programs for underprivileged children in our community. The event is a miniature golf tournament called Tee Time for Tots, and it’s coming up on Saturday, April 30 at the Evie’s on Bee Ridge Road.
Three New Websites
We’re planning to launch three new websites this week. One of these projects was in the works for a while, and the other two came together over the last few weeks. As always, pulling together website content is the primary challenge in completing these projects.
The Sweet Taste of Victory
On Saturday I attended the American Youth Cup II regatta at Nathan Benderson Park. This is only the second event I’ve attended since my daughter, Catherine, started rowing with Sarasota Crew last summer. And I am proud to report that my daughter’s boat won their race!
Finding Focus
We have two strategic planning sessions scheduled this week (and two more next week) so I decided to write about focus, which is a central theme of strategic planning – especially when we talk about setting sales goals and defining target markets.
Another Busy Week
Last Sunday I was praising our great weather, but halfway through the week the temperature was up to 85 degrees. The spring equinox is not until next Sunday, but for those of us in Sarasota, it feels like summer has arrived.
