Major Milestone

Posted by: on Sunday, March 27, 2011 Comments (1)

This week I am pleased to announce a major milestone in the evolution of our young enterprise. Starting in May, Lee Gaines will be the first of our associates to join the company on a full-time basis. Please help us welcome Lee aboard by referring your web marketing projects to Milestone.

Lee has been a freelance associate of Milestone Marketing Associates since we launched the business in October of 2009. Over the last 18 months his web design and development expertise has been instrumental to the success of our online presence and every web marketing project we delivered.

My relationship with Lee goes back to Quest Solutions where he worked for many years – first in R&D with an aptitude for the technical aspects of delivering software and later in the marketing department where he honed his design skills. It is this rare combination of web development and design talent that makes Lee such a valuable asset to our creative team.

Lee left Quest Solutions after the merger with Maxwell Systems and went to work for Accrisoft, a local software company that provides a powerful and easy-to-use content management system for building and maintaining websites called Accrisoft Freedom (we’re a solution provider).

After a few years of building websites with Freedom and managing projects for Accrisoft Lee moved on to his current employer, Miles Media. As a lead developer and project manager for Miles, Lee worked on major destination marketing websites for accounts like Memphis and San Antonio.

In his Web Marketing Management role at Milestone, Lee will be responsible for website design and development, as well as online marketing programs such as search engine optimization, email marketing, and social media.

Lee will also work in a project management capacity to facilitate all our client projects allowing more time for me to dedicate to our business development requirements. These are exciting times at Milestone, and I’m thrilled to once again be working side-by-side with Lee.

In other news…

Last week’s trip to Las Vegas was successful. CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2011 turned out to be a record-breaking event. I collected a stack of business cards and found a few hot leads so with any luck they’ll pay for the trip.

It was great to see the old gang from Maxwell Systems. Thanks to everyone for making me feel so welcome, and don’t blame me for anyone showing up late to the booth. I swear it wasn’t my fault!

Last but not least, there’s still time to register for tomorrow evening’s Brews & Bytes at the Cock & Bull. Don’t miss this networking event with live music by Kettle of Fish, $3 beer specials, and free food! Join Suncoast Technology Forum and Barcamp Sarasota and help us grow the local tech economy.

Until next week,

Off to Vegas

This week I’m off to Vegas for another trade show. Last week’s BizTech in Tampa turned out to be a decent show. The attendance was light and we came up short on our lead-gen goal, but for a first-year event it wasn’t too bad. We have a lot to do before I leave town on Thursday.

Not only do we have a pile of new trade show leads, but there’s also been an uptick in local opportunities. If I have any luck in Vegas there’s a good chance we’re going to be very busy.

This is a good thing. Current projects are wrapping up, we have a few new projects in the hopper, and now there are several new leads in the pipeline. As the first quarter winds down, it is imperative that we close enough sales to keep us busy through the summer when people are harder to get a hold of and decisions get postponed.

Brews & Bytes – Tuesday, March 29th from 5-9pm at the Cock & Bull

For the STF plug of the week, don’t forget to register for Brews & Bytes. This FREE networking event is for all members, guests, prospective members, members of the media, and pretty much anyone who is vaguely interested in Suncoast Technology Forum and/or Barcamp Sarasota.

Enjoy $3 beer specials courtesy of the Cock & Bull and live music from Kettle of Fish sponsored by Milestone Marketing Associates. Hope to see you there!

Until next week,

Matthew Anderson, President
