Passion for Haiti Foundation Chooses Milestone

SARASOTA, Florida (April 17, 2012)—Sarasota-based Milestone Marketing Associates recently completed web design services for The Passion for Haiti Foundation, Inc., a local 501(c)(3) charitable organization that is active in the Atrelle, Haiti region.

"To us, this was more than just another website project," says Milestone's founder and president, Matthew Anderson. "We at Milestone are all strongly committed to the cause that the Passion for Haiti Foundation represents, and we are naturally proud to be a part of their efforts."

As part of the project, Milestone's artists designed the foundation's logo, which is featured prominently on the new site (www.PassionForHaitiFoundation.org). Milestone is also hosting the foundation's new website.

About the Passion for Haiti Foundation, Inc.

The Passion for Haiti Foundation, Inc. was founded by Sarasota resident Jackie Cutrone and Quincy Genestant, the son of the founder of the Atrelle Orphanage, in 2010.

The Atrelle Orphanage is currently home to 280 children, ranging in ages from 3 to 18.  Many of these children became orphans in the wake of the January, 2010 earthquake centered around Port au Prince, Haiti's capital city.

The region of Atrelle is isolated and mountainous, with no infrastructure to speak of. Because of this, access to water and sanitation facilities are extremely unreliable, which contribute to desperately poor living conditions.

As is typical in cases of extreme poverty, children bear the heaviest burden. Currently they are educated in grass huts and have no access to electricity or running water.

Passion for Haiti Foundation Inc. is committed to help maintain the building used by the orphanage as both a church and a school, and to dig a well nearby for the community to use for both irrigation and sanitation. By improving the ability of the local community to practice agriculture and to improve public health and hygiene, the Passion for Haiti Foundation hopes to make significant contributions to the quality of life in the Atrelle region.
